Leadership is about taking charge and influencing others to follow your vision. It’s about going against the odds and accepting responsibility for the outcomes along the way.

Some people believe they don’t have the ability to get others to follow them; they see it as an inborne skill reserved for the lucky few. Persuasion, however, is a trait which can be developed. It rests on the foundation of a bold vision, is forged through a refusal to let setbacks and negative reactions halt forward movement, and is fueled by a positive outlook and an intense desire to succeed. Study the lives of great leaders such as George Washington and you will uncover failures, scorn, and even ridicule by contemporaries. You will also find individuals who accepted responsibility for all outcomes and who simply refused to give in, no matter the odds.
