Maintaining a Creative Mindset

November 4, 2021 pwm1

“The thoughts that come often unsought, and, as it were, drop into the mind, are commonly the most valuable of any we have, and therefore should be secured, because they seldom return again.”

— John Locke (1696, by Sir Godfrey Kneller; Public Domain)

Some become so jaded in life, so self-absorbed, that they lose touch with the creative thoughts which dance around their heads on a regular basis. Their attitude creates a barrier to entry, and their bitter minds attack any new ideas which seep through.

The spiritually-based mind, free from the baggage of ordinary life, is always receptive to new ideas. Understanding that the world extends well beyond that which we can physically see, this mind welcomes fresh thoughts and “random ideas,” and shows gratitude for their appearance.
