Let’s face it, humor is not the first attribute that comes to mind when we are pondering the saints. But history if full of examples of saints and martyrs using humor to get their point across, all the way back to the earliest days of Christianity. Saint Augustine’s quote, which he uttered in the 4th century AD, is a perfect example of this.
