Belief Shapes Destiny

If you believe in fate, believe in it—at least—for your good.

—Ralph Waldo Emerson (1857, Public Domain)

Working with a multitude of clients and their family members with respect to money matters, I have gained a unique insight into how the psyche affects one’s success—or failure—in life. One interesting facet I have noted is that individuals who have a chronically negative outlook on life, that it is out of their control, seem to attract bad luck like a magnet attracts metal shavings. The odds are always stacked against them, and they freely express that belief. Those who expect good things out of life tend to take the proactive actions needed to bring them wealth and success. If they believe in fate, they believe in it “for their good.”
